NestChinese (“we”, “us”) is an app and website that helps you prepare for the HSK 3.0 Chinese proficiency exam. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. NestChinese is operated by Shanghai Ziyoushi Information Technology Co., Ltd.

No account needed to start

You can use the core of NestChinese without creating an account. When you do, your learning progress (streak, honey points, study plan, placement result, practice history, and mistakes) is stored only on your device and is not sent to us.

What we collect if you sign up

If you create an optional account to sync across devices, we collect and store:

• Your email address and, optionally, a display name;
• A securely hashed password (we never store it in plain text);
• Your learning progress, so it can be restored on your other devices.

Speaking practice

Text is read aloud on your device using your device’s built-in speech engine. If you use pronunciation feedback, your recording may be processed by a third-party speech service to score it and is not retained afterward.

Who processes your data

We use a small number of trusted service providers:

• Supabase — database hosting (servers located in the United States);
• Vercel — application hosting and content delivery.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not show third-party advertising.

Your choices & rights

• Access or correct your account information at any time;
• Delete your account and associated data by contacting us at the email below;
• Use the app without an account to keep all data on your device only.

Children

NestChinese is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
